Wood County TRAINING
NAMI Wood County CIT Training CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) programs are local initiatives designed to improve how law enforcement and the community respond to people experiencing mental health crises. They are built on strong partnerships between law enforcement, mental health provider agencies, and individuals and families affected by mental illness.
Mental Health First Aid Training Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care. Anyone can take the 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course.

Wood County Educational Services Center Youth Mental Health First Aid Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is a public education program that introduces you to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents and transitional-aged youth, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches you how to help a young person in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. The course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to recognize a mental health crisis, provide initial help and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope and know how to get help and save a life.

Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation
Zero Suicide Institute's Safety Planning Training Learn who, what, where, when, and how to create a safety plan to support a person at risk of suicide. Build confidence in counseling on access to lethal means and practice your skills in a supportive learning environment. 3.5 CEs will be provided to Ohio social workers, counselors, and psychologists.

Zero Suicide Alliance Suicide Awareness Training The training is recommended for anyone aged 16 and over. Participants will learn how to spot suicide warning signs, how to have a conversation with someone you're worried about, where to signpost to for further support and that suicide is preventable.
Suicide Awareness Training - Student Edition This edition of suicide awareness training has been developed specifically for university students and includes information and scenarios that are related to experiences at university.
Suicide Awareness Training - Veteran Edition Developed with Help for Heroes, the aim of this training is to provide participants with practice in handling difficult situations where a person may be at risk of suicide. This interactive training course includes three conversation examples: with a loved one, a colleague, and a stranger.
